A nice collection indeed. Of course the real trick is to get to Moscow:

Have you been down to Lackland Parade Field in San Antonio? That’s just a day trip for you.
It has some nifty planes on display.

Can you get into it? Dyess AFB in Abilene has a fantastic airpark, but they closed it to the public after 9/11. You can’t get to it without a military ID. Google Maps link because a screen shot wouldn’t do it justice.

Thanks for the link. Working on mobile right now....
I haven’t been there since I was little, but I don’t think the park is behind a gate. It’s right next to the Lackland AFB visitors center.

Is that the one where you can see the Concorde and the Russian version of the Concorde from the highway?

From another comment, the SST is only a wooden mockup that they use as a cafe. I didn’t see anything about the Tu-144 in their collection.

Right, so it’s another place than what I had in mind. With a little bit of googling: I meant the museum in Sinsheim in Germany, where they do have a Tu-144 and a Concorde. Real ones. Both visible from the highway.

I drove by there once, totally oblivious. Just crui sing on the highway. And suddenly I saw not one but two Concorde s. I wasn’t expecting that. Turned out one of those was no Concorde but its Soviet equivalent.

Well, it looks like my tour of German aviation museums is shaping up nicely!

They are only 2 hours apart too.
